Summary

WIT Logistics LLC/ Walker SCM is looking for a Transportation Team Lead for our operation in Enfield, North Carolina. We are looking for the right person who shares our philosophy of Operational Excellence on a daily basis. WIT Logistics's primary objective is to deliver the right part, to the right place, at the right time.

The Transportation Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations, ensuring efficient routing, and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role involves supervising a team of drivers and logistics personnel, optimizing delivery schedules, and coordinating with other departments to enhance operational efficiency.

Team Supervision and Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate the transportation team, including drivers and support staff.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and DOT guidelines.

Operational Management:

• Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Monitor fleet performance, maintenance schedules, and fuel usage.
• Coordinate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure timely deliveries.

Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular safety checks and audits on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of driver hours, vehicle inspections, and incident reports.

Customer Service and Communication:

• Address customer inquiries and concerns related to transportation and deliveries.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve logistical challenges.
• Communicate schedule changes and delays proactively to stakeholders.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of improvement.
• Prepare and present reports on transportation metrics and cost efficiency.
• Implement strategies to enhance operational productivity and reduce expenses.

• Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least [X] years in a leadership role.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and routing software.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
